As you begin planning for reopening; there still may be questions about how to go about it to ensure the safety of your employees and clients while they are in your establishment and as you and your team provide massages and skin treatments. To help a safe reopen, The International Spa Association (ISPA) is offering the ISPA COVID-19 Reopening Toolkit. It provides a collection of resources to help you reopen safely and successfully.
ISPA worked with 100 volunteer spa leaders, governing bodies, medical professionals and resource partners to develop the toolkit. Currently, the toolkit includes the following customizable tools to enable you to meet your respective governmental guidelines and individual needs:
- ISPA’s Spa Industry Sanitation and Hygiene Standards
- A Spa Reopening Checklist
- Communications templates
- Opening press release template
ISPA notes that a few of the policy changes that may have to be implemented in the initial stages of reopening include:
- Reduced capacity
- More restrictions in communal spaces to meet social distancing requirements
- Additional personal protective equipment (PPE) worn by staff
- Removal of shared product testers
- Treatment menus, and refreshment amenities
- Touchless check-in and payment options
ISPA is making the toolkit available to its members and non-members. You can download the kit at: https://experienceispa.com/covid-19-info/2-uncategorised/400-reopening-resources
