Getting Down to Essentials: Orange Essential Oil

A study conducted on a 100 women during labor found orange essential oil helped the women overcome anxiety. The women in the study were randomly assigned to either an intervention or a control group.  The women in the control group were exposed to distilled water; the ones in the intervention group were exposed to orange essential oil. While the level of anxiety in women in both groups declined, the reduction of anxiety was greater in the group exposed to the orange essential oil.
