Mother’s Day is a boon to retailers, so why shouldn’t it be the same for your spa or massage practice? The National Retail Federation reports that consumers spent nearly $20 billion on flowers, cards, jewelry, and last year for an average of $163 per shopper. With that kind of opportunity to “spoil mom” on her special day, you’ve probably already been promoting special treatments and packages, gift cards, and retail products for the past few weeks.
Still, there’s value in extra marketing push a few days before the “big day.” Here are six last-minute promotional activities to engage with your clients and prospects to maximize your Mother’s Day marketing opportunity.
Send out an email
Send an email reminder to clients and prospects about your Mother’s Day treatments and special packages, retail items, gift cards, and certificates. Include website links to your special promotions and gift certificate purchase page as well as to your online bookings, if you provide that option.
Text last minute offers
Text a last-minute special offer to select clients if they haven’t already booked an appointment. If they have an appointment, offer them a reduction on a retail item.
Promote in the neighborhood
If you have good graphic skills, get them to create an attractive flyer and print off a number of them to post at other establishments you do business within the neighborhood. For example, if you and your team frequent a nearby coffee shop, ask if you can put up a flier on their bulletin board or leave copies at the counter. If there’s a woman’s wear store nearby, see if they would put out some fliers. You can return the favor by putting out materials on their Mother’s Day or future holiday specials.
Recommend gift ideas on social media
Post photos of some of your retail items as well as your gift cards on your social media channels. Also, do a blog on last-minute gift ideas for Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day trivia on Facebook
Share some fun facts about Mother’s Day on your social media channels. You can find some at http://www.mothersdaycelebration.com, Tie the trivia in with your offerings, if possible.
Answer callers with a Mother’s Day message
Create a short greeting about Mother’s Day for your receptionist to use over the next few days. If you use an answering machine to take calls after hours, make sure to record a message on there as well.
Mother’s Day is mom’s big day. Make it a big day at your spa or massage practice with a promotional push right up to Sunday.
