Olive Oil

It’s not only lettuce that gets even better – and healthier – with olive oil, so does our skin. Olive oil has been widely used over the ages as a beauty aid. Cleopatra was known for taking baths with olive oil to make her skin smooth and shiny.

Because of its beneficial fatty acids and powerful antioxidants, olive oil is considered one of the healthiest vegetable oils. Its benefits for the skin are equally impressive. Olive oil contains Vitamin E, an antioxidant that can help repair skin damage from sun damage, air pollution, and other environmental hazards such as cigarette smoke. Olive oil penetrates deeply into the skin to provide a long-lasting shield of moisture to keep skin smooth and supple.

In the past few years, olive oil has been touted as a substitute for at-home moisturizers for face and body, in homemade facial masks, as a makeup remover, and even as a substitute for shaving cream. At BIOTONE, we use it in our complete line of Aromatherapy Massage Lotions.
