Make the most of spa and massage practice holiday revenue by going the marketing ‘extra mile’
There’s no doubt the holiday season is kicking in. Companies like UPS are already putting out the word for seasonal help. Whether or not this will be a strong holiday for shopper remains to be seen, but it’s definitely time to start planning how you can maximize sales at your spa or massage practice. You may have special treatments and packages that you traditionally offer to celebrate this festive time of year. But to make sure you stand out from the competition, you’ll for want to turn up the volume on your marketing activities to make sure clients and prospects place your services and retail offerings high on their shopping list. Here are several ideas to add to your holiday marketing plan:

Spruce up your website: In addition to sprucing up your spa or massage practice for the holidays, don’t forget to extend the decorating to your website. Adding holiday-themed images can encourage visitors to spend more time on your site as they explore your various services and retail offering

Create a party for top clients
: After Thanksgiving when holiday shopping gets really serious, host a special party at your spa or massage practice for your top clients. Provide guests with a small retail gift or a special discount for a future massage or skin treatment. Be sure to have your holiday gift items on display and consider offering a special discount for the day.

Holiday with a purpose:
Select a nonprofit or community organization to support throughout the holidays. You might select one week where a portion of your sales go to support the organization you choose. If the organization has a special event, offer chair massages for free or contribute any fees you take in to the organization. Market your involvement through your regular on and offline channels to let your clients know of your generosity in this time of giving.

Create a special video:
Create a special YouTube video for the holidays about your special treatments and packages. Include information about how to purchase a gift certificate. The video can be short – even 30 to 45 seconds. Post it on your social media channels and your website.

Make the most of your window display
: Draw clients into your spa or massage practice with a window display that reflects the season. Depending on your client base, you may want a traditional holiday themed window decoration with lights and evergreens and other signs of the season. If you have a younger audience; you may go for something trendy. For example, you could place tablets in the window with special screens that showcase your retail products.

Co-market with another business:  Drive new clients through the door by partnering with another business – a fitness center or even a restaurant. Ask the other business to hand out your flier or specially designed postcard to their customers that offers special holiday packages. In turn, promote your partner by offering some discount for its services or goods.
