It’s really not because we share the same name that I’m a huge fan of Shea Butter. It’s because this multi-purpose cream has proven to be effective in nourishing the skin and helping to protect its natural oils in order to treat a number of skin conditions – wrinkles, sunburns, skin allergies and even insect bites among them. For that reason, we use Shea Butter in the formulation of many of BIOTONE body butters and lotions for both professional and at-home. It’s also the key ingredient in our Pure Touch Organics product line.
Shea Butter is actually the fat from the nut of the Shea tree that grows in West Africa. Shea Butter gets is nourishing and healing properties from it abundance of vitamins, most notably A, which contributes to healthy, balanced and even-toned skin by aiding skin cell turnover. Shea Butter also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant to prevent skin aging; and vitamin F, which is essential to the growth and maintenance of healthy skin.
